Low patronage hits newly opened Ibadan shoprite

The first day it opened it was like a tourist site, but the Ibadan people have since found their way back to their local markets...lol. Barely a month after the grand opening of Shoprite at Heritage Cocoa Mall, on Oba Adebimpe Road, Dugbe, Ibadan, Oyo State, the retail store has been hit with low patronage. The number of Ibadan people who go there to buy things have reduced drastically. Some residents blame it on the prices of goods at shoprite. While some say it's cheaper to buy some goods from their local markets than from shoprite, others say though it's cheaper to buy from shoprite than the stores in their neighborhood, the difference isn't much and the transport fare to go to shoprite and back isn't worth it, so they stick to shops in their area.

The most patronized commodity at shoprite Ibadan is the freshly baked bread, everything else na manage...:-) Though people go there a lot on the weekends...just to look around. Hehe

Nigeria's Vincent Enyeama Now First-Choice Goalkeeper At Lille, France

Nigeria's Vincent Enyeama Now First-Choice Goalkeeper At Lille, France
Nigeria international, Vincent Enyeama, has been declared first-choice goalkeeper of French Ligue 1 side, Lille Metropole for the coming 2013/2014 season.
According to L'Equipe, Lille manager, Rene Girard, has given the nod to Enyeama ahead of French international Steeve Elana in the pecking order of goalkeepers at the club.
"Vincent Enyeama (30 years) will be the number one goalkeeper of Lille next season as René Girard has decided," reported L'Equipe on Wednesday.
Ike Shorunmu, Nigeria's goalkeeping trainer says that he is least surprised about the opportunity given to the AFCON winning goalkeeper at the french club.
"Honestly I'm happy for him and it shows that he is our best and one of the best in Africa and the world at the moment. I am not surprised that he is now number one at his club."
"You know every coach has different philosophy or plan, so I believe his present coach feels Enyeama is good enough to be number one and I am happy that has happened and it is an advantage to us at the national team," said Shorunmu in a media interview.
Since joining Lille in 2011, Enyeama had been second-choice to Mickael Landreau before he was loaned to Israeli club Maccabi Tel-Aviv last season.
After Landreau's departure to Bastia in January this year, Elana became number one whiles Enyeama was away on loan.
However this latest decision by Girard has ended speculations about the future of Enyeama, who had been linked with a return to Israel.

'The Night I Slept With Davido Was The Hottest Ever' - Kenyan Musician, Pendo (PHOTO)

A lot has been said concerning socialite/bad girl Pendo, Davido and their alleged romp this past weekend when the superstar was in town.

Well we want to put ALL the rumours to rest. First of all, we have the interview that has everyone up in arms that Davido denied Pendo’s existence. And keep your eyes open for more on that.

Secondly, I personally decided to call up Pendo and ask her what was the REAL deal. So here is our conversation (partly redacted to get right down to all the juicy parts) about everything.

So what is all this wahala about Davido blocking you off of his facebook?

Pendo : If people had done even a little research, they would Davido does not even have a Facebook account. I NEVER said I was in touch with him through Facebook. I got in touch with him through a good friend of his *redacted* and that’s where everything started. He did the intro.

So, seriously, did you sleep with Davido?

Pendo: Errrrrrrrrrrm (laughs cheekily) (There is IRREFUTABLE proof that Pendo did spend the night with Nigerian superstar, if you want to see it plead with her on twitter @LoveStaicey to release it.) In the meantime, have this picture of Davido, topless, in his hotel room from his personal instagram. Maybe Pendo took it # troll

So why did you do this? Do you do this for money?

Pendo: (Laughs) No, I didn’t get money from him. I didn’t WANT money from him. I did it simply cuz I find him hot and he is pretty legit in the music industry in Africa. Yeah, I am attracted by his talent, his fame, his power, but honestly, who isn’t? And people are talking so much because a lot of women wanted to be in my shoes, but were not. I’m not afraid to go after what I want. That’s just me. And I am unapologetic for it. I am content that I got what I wanted -which was to know him- and I guess it just naturally progressed from there…

So was this a one time thing then?

Pendo: No, I would do it again. Gladly. I don’t regret it at all.
Of course you know now I am gonna ask about the “D”. Free reign, choose your own words to describe it.

Pendo: He was perfect.

Nooooooooo, more than that. DESCRIPTION.

Pendo: (Laughing) Ok, ok. Errrrrrrrrrrm, he is much better than your “average Kenyan”. He is big. Both length and width. (Giggles) And best part is he REALLY knows what he is working with.

Haha, so you loved ALL OF HIM. (SN: Hehe, see what I did there?)

Pendo: (Giggles) Ha, you won’t let this go will you. Haha, no seriously though, he has CRAZY moves, he kept it fresh for a couple hours. I am impressed. Definitely the best…(hesitates) Ok maybe not the best I ever had, but he is up there.

So was this a one night stand or will you be seeing him again?

Pendo: Davido is not only a good lover but a gentleman. Not only did he not publicise the affair, but he left me with some personal mementos to remember him. I don’t think a one night stand does that. Plus there is still communication going on. I’m not saying we are dating, but we are definitely still talking. He did not “hit it and quit it”.

Watch this space to see if Pendo goes to visit Davido in Nigeria. A little birdie tells me that this may be a high possibility right now. And seriously, wouldn’t a Pendo/Davido dalliance be so Rihanna/ChrisBrown-esque (bad girls get the bad boys and they don’t give a damn.?

Actress, Stella Damasus' Ex-Husband May Sue Her For Re-Marrying Without Divorce

photo
Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus's estranged husband, Emeka Nzeribe might be suing her and her new husband, Daniel Ademinokan soon.
Emeka told some of his friends that the actress has no right to re-marry since they were yet to be properly divorced.
The controversial Nollywood actress got married secretly to her colleague’s ex-husband outside of the country few months ago, a story which was later leaked to the public.

"If my husband cheats, I will castrate him' - Uche Jombo

In this interview with Sam Olatunji, Uche Jombo speaks on cheating and new movie ‘Unconditional’.

What is it with the celebrity kids on your new movie, ‘Unconditional’?
We didn’t set out to use celebrity kids. I told everyone including you the age range I want and people suggested the kids. Aghahowa’s daughter has wanted to act since age 5, we auditioned Chigozie, and she did well and got a coach to coach them. 2face’s daughter is just a drama queen. And this movie, Unconditional is not all about them, Dakore, Ruth Kadiri and I acted in it. It’s the kind of move that will touch the heart.

If your husband were to be a serial philanderer like Desmond’s character in the movie, Lies Men Tell, what will you do?
I will castrate him, he knows and believes that. To me, there is no excuse to cheat, its either you are with someone or not, and if you are tired of the person, please accord the person decency of respect by saying it’s over. Don’t go making someone look stupid. The problem with me is there is no in- between.
Do you believe what you are saying or are you saying it for the purpose of this interview?
I am saying,Uche Jombo-Rodrigues doesn’t have in-between. That is the reason it takes me long time to make a decision or take a stand on something, but when I do, that is it. There is no excuse not to honour an agreement you have made, this doesn’t have anything to do with this interview. It is the principle that guides me. It is not just about marriage, it’s how I conduct my relationships, its either it is this or that, if that is mymind-set in a relationship, you should know that for marriage it’ll be 150%. There is no room for cheating.

So you believe your husband will or should not cheat on you?
I don’t have control over what someone will do, I’m not God. I’m talking about me, how I conduct things. It’s not an option that it will happen, I will not tolerate cheating.

Are you saying you will not forgive the man who cheats on you and is manly enough to say I’m sorry?

If you are in that situation Sam, oh God! You are going to slave for me for life. And do you know any man that will want to slave for a woman for life, answer?

Is it true you are older than your husband and the man you dated before him?

I have never dated or married someone I was older than in my life. If you have the illusion of someone’s age, that is your business, and I am even too mature for my age. That is the problem, because men of my age are ‘small boys’ around me, I can’t date them. I am someone who has to become a mother to some of my siblings at the age of 14. Because you are an under-achiever does not mean I should play down on my achievement. If age is the yard stick for you to succeed, you should not judge people with it, I don’t have an apology. If I’m learning from people who are older than me that is because I don’t hang out with my age mates; I don’t think there is anything else you want to teach me, and if you want to judge me by the people I hang out with or by when I started my hustle, where the hell were you at that time? What really matters to me is that people who know me during my not-too-proud days are so proud that, this is me now. I have come far, it’s something I’m grateful for, and I couldn’t have even written it better if it were a story.

“I WAS BUILDING A HOUSE FOR FUNKE BEFORE SHE LEFT”- KEHINDE OLOYEDE

In a recent interview with Encomium magazine, Funke Akindele’s husband revealed he was building a house for his wife before she ended the marriage. It’s a one-storey building (uncompleted) located off Adeniji Jones in Ikeja,Lagos.

Mr Oloyede told Encomium magazine:
“They wrote that I am a tout, from what you are seeing here now, do I look like a tout or garage boy? They also said I’m a drop out, from the way you and I have been speaking, do I speak like someone who did not go to school? I have decided to follow the advice of those who said I should not join issues with her and her supporters. I am not a celebrity. I am an estate developer. She is the star that has her career to protect and I don’t want to be the one to spoil her career.

Wande Coal Breaks Up With Don Jazzy's Mavin Records

Wande Coal after years of staying loyal to his bosses, Dbanj and Don Jazzy has allegedly finally parted ways with Mavin Records owned by Don Jazzy to form his own label known as Black Diamond Entertainment.
During the post Mohit era which saw Dbanj and Don Jazzy parting ways to form their own record label, Wande Coal pitched his tent with the super producer, Don Jazzy and released a number of hits under the Mavin blueprint.

With the likes of Wizkid and Iyanya running their own label and making it bigtime, Wande Coal finally summoned the courage to untie himself from the apron strings of Mavin to become his own boss.

His new single ‘Kilaju’ produced by Maleek Berry, which dropped yesterday was released under his Black Diamond imprint.

A member of his new team who pleaded anonymity confirmed the split saying WC’s twitter bio says it all, while attempt to reach Don Jazzy was not possible as at the time of filing this report.

The shocking and sad life story of Mario Balotelli

The shocking and sad life story of Mario Balotelli
Super Mario is born-Balotelli (right) aged three years old
In the old precarious council flat of Thomas and Rose in Bagnolo Mella, in the suburbs of Brescia in northern Italy, we can see photographs of the family on the walls.

There are pictures of their four kids— Abigail, 22, Mario, 19, Enoch, 17, and Angel, 11. But Mario is always in the centre. We can see him as a baby, as an infant and as a kid, kicking the ball and wrestling with his brother Enoch.

But Mario no longer bears the name of Barwuah. He is a Balotelli now, surname he has taken from his foster parents, the Balotellis.

The player we all know as ‘Super Mario’ says his biological parents abandoned him when he was two years old.

Mr Barwuah, a Ghanaian man, Mario’s real dad says with emotion as he picks up a picture of his long lost son:

‘Mario had spent hours playing football in the rain,’ said Mr Barwuah. ‘When the boys came in they were soaked but they were laughing and joking despite being wet. My friend said to Mario, “You really are Super Mario”. It’s the name we gave him.’

Mr Barwuah is proud of his son, but very sad. Indeed, Balotelli has only invited him to one game when he was still playing for Inter Milan, a game where he only played the last 32 minutes.

‘He turned up one day with four tickets and he gave them to his brother, Enoch,’ said Mr Barwuah. ‘I asked if I could come and watch and he said that Enoch had the tickets and he could do what he wanted with them.

‘He has never remembered us. Not a birthday or Christmas, nothing. He is not the same boy I knew when he was younger — always laughing and smiling. He was trouble but in a good way.’

The Balotellis, his adoptive parents, were a white Italian family who could offer baby Mario a future which Mr Barwuah and his wife could not give him, because of poverty.

Mr Barwuah said: ‘At first we were not sure but we decided it was probably best for Mario. We saw him every week and we all got on really well.

‘We thought that at some point, once things had sorted out, Mario would come back to us. But instead, every time we tried to get him back, the Balotellis kept extending the foster time.’

At first the Balotellis were meant to keep Mario for an extra year, but they were rich and had lawyers on their side. Each year they extended the adoption period and Mario gradually became a stranger to his own parents.

‘We couldn’t afford lawyers to fight for us, so Mario grew more and more distant,’ he said.
‘He would come and visit and play with his brothers and sisters but he just didn’t seem to have any time for us, his mother and father.

‘We wanted him back for more than 10 years but, every time we tried, the courts blocked it and as the years passed he became colder towards us. The Balotellis know people and are influential and we could do nothing.’

Turning his back to the country of origin
The shocking and sad life story of Mario Balotelli
Balotelli with mother Rose and brother Enoch

Balotelli decided to turn his back on his Ghanaian origin. He took the surname of his adopted parents and played for Italy’s Under 21 side.

His foster mother, Mrs Balotelli said once: ‘He was born and raised in Italy but had to suffer the humiliation and hardships of being considered a foreigner.’

In 2008, on his 18th birthday, Balotelli became an Italian citizen, but his real parents, the Barwuahs were not invited to the ceremony.

‘We didn’t know anything about that until we saw it on the news,’ said Mr Barwuah. ‘I didn’t even know he had taken the surname Balotelli. I thought he would still have our surname.’

In 2008 Balotelli claimed during a television interview that his birth parents had abandoned him in a hospital. He added that they were now only interested in his money.

‘If I didn’t become Mario Balotelli then Mr and Mrs Barwuah would not have cared about me for anything,’ he said.

Mr Barwuah said: ‘Mario was convinced we had abandoned him in a hospital but that’s just not true. That is the Balotelli family putting something into his head and it really hurts.

‘We have always loved Mario but he has changed. It’s the Balotellis — they have made him turn against us.

‘How can he say we just want to know him for his money? It’s not true. We don’t want any money. We are Christians.

‘Do you know what he has started saying now? That we beat him as a child. It’s a lie. We never touched him. We would never beat him. We gave him all the love we could.

‘We have done nothing wrong. We want more than anything to have our son back but now I think it’s too late.’Mr Barwuah said.

‘Like any father, I wish him well. I was so proud when he joined Inter and I am still proud of him,’ he said.

‘I don’t want anything from him. I just want us to be how we were.

‘We did not leave Mario. Why would we have these pictures of us together?’

PHOTOS: Inside The N50 Billion Yacht

With a repertoire to rival the most outlandish Saudi and Russian mega-yachts, the Nirvana is causing a bidding war among billionaire sailors as they battle to snap up the £200 million (N49,463,088,884) sea city. Only a handful of yachts have been priced more than the one-year-old vessel – making it one of the most luxurious floating mansions on the planet.

Built by South African construction gurus Oceanco and designed by Australian Sam Sorgiovanni, the 88.5 metre-long yacht has a remarkable pedigree history.
A spokesman for Edmiston, who are marketing the yacht, said: ‘Nirvana is without question one of a handful of elite world cruising yachts around today – and it is certainly the most impressive and opulent yacht currently on sale. ‘Every inch of the ship has been painstakingly designed and built. There really is little else like it.
‘There, of course, has been a lot of interest in the listing but as of yet no sale has been agreed.’

The silver engraved elevator services all decks and leads guests up to the owner’s deck which can be transformed into a secluded on-board retreat.
The owner’s stateroom dominates over half of the upper deck, with a private sunbathing area with Jacuzzi forward, salon with terraces over the sea and a covered dining area.
Exterior stairs on the above deck lead to the bridge deck and the enormous and superbly equipped gymnasium and spa.

But when spas and five-star dining becomes too much, there is a private sundeck with plunge pool to enjoy, a 3D cinema next to twins garages that caters for supercars, ski boats or 10 jet skis.
Or if riding waves is too similar to sailing, then owners will be able to fly off in their own helicopter from their private helipad.
