The 51-year-old man had been found dead at his dinner table with a plate of food in front of him in the Townsville suburb of North Ward, Australia.
Townsville neighbours thought that a man who had died while sitting in a chair at his dining room table was asleep.
After a while they realised that he hadn't moved for several days and raised the alarm.
Townsville police senior sergeant Tony Melrose said that they were not treating the death as suspicious.
"We expect his death to be of natural causes given the absence of injuries, violence and the fact he was seated in the chair," he said.
Also he added that a post mortem examination was due to be completed today
