Thompson Oliha is dead

 
A member of the 1994 African Nations Cup winning squad, Oliha, 44, died Sunday morning.
He was one of the coaches at the Kwara State Football Academy in Ilorin.
Confirming his death, Bunmi Adedoyin, Kwara State Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria(SWAN) said Oliha died in the early hours of Sunday in a private hospital in Ilorin, from an undisclosed ailment.
Oliha played for Bendel Insurance (1985-1987), Iwuanyanwu Nationale (1988-1991), Africa Sports (1992-1993), Maccabi Ironi Ashdod F.C. (1993-1994) and Antalyaspor (1994-1995).
As a player, he was known for his powerful shots and abilities in the air. Oliha retired at the age of 27, as a result of a serious knee injury.
Sadly Oliha has become the third player from the victorious 1994 Super Eagles squad to have passed on. Other squad players who are now also late include defender, Uche Okafor and striker, Rashidi Yekini.
